What is the best curved 34" to 36" (or 38" at a push) monitor and small footprint mount considering:
  1. Working from home with multiple open MS Office documents, Excel and a bit of macro work. I work with numbers, so NO content creation, or video work.
  2. Prefer 4k but can live without it.
  3. Preferences slim bezels, end to end display, slim footprint (if this is possible for a monitor at this size range)
  4. Mount - which doesnt push monitor too far forward on desk
Strangely, (and please pardon my ignorance) ZERO 36" monitors listed here:
https://pcpartpicker.com/products/monitor/#F=863600000,889000000&sort=-size&page=1

The highest i can go for my desk at home is 38" so a recommendation here is also appreciated.

I had my eye on this 40" beauty, but its not available in Singapore and most probably wouldn't be practical as too big to be looking at up close all day.

Is there a site that lists every past and current monitor for sale apart from Amazon? I want to specify 36" in the search.
I have used pcpicker and found displayninja not complete.

Thank you most kindly

Bill

MS Office documents, Excel and a bit of macro work

dual monitor setup.

One set normally on landscape, the other rotated 90 degrees for portrait.
The portrait display is indispensable in a working environment, as you get a long view of the page like how a real page should look like.

So i would pick up a dual arm vesa mount to match your desk, and drop in 2 x 27inch monitors.
This is what my admins have at work, and they will cause world war 3 in the office should i ever change that, unless its a longer portrait monitor which they have been asking.

Im going to borrow a couple of monitors from work and try that out. I am now also looking at Samsung 49" Odyssey G9, as it appears to be 2x27 monitors without bezel in middle and a nicer footprint...

Samsung 49" Odyssey G9

no...

the G9 is a super ultra wide monitor.
It has almost no purpose in an office environment.
Its a full out bloated gaming monitor made ultra wide so you have a much wider Field of View in First person shooters.

In real world setup, its horrible, because your excel pages will be streched so far sideways its counter productive, unless you got a really wide excel sheet.
You word documents applies also, if you page view stuff you only get like a 20% monitor utilization.
Even in some games its horrible, as again, you have way too much horizontal that your top and down field of view is limited in games like Diablo, Divinity, Dragons Age, or Torchlight. Basically its a monitor for CS:GO, R6 Siege, Frontnight, PUBG, any first person shooter ideally wins with a huge advantage in having such a wide Field of View.

If you want to splurg that much, get 2 x 4k monitors, like from LG or Samsung (QLED) make sure they support VESA mount.
But i would make sure that the one of them has really superior color reproduction.

Also keep the monitor sizes simular or your scaling will be off.
So if your going 27, stay with 2 x 27 (same brand and maker too if possible) and not do something like 27 + 31

This is the Dual Vesa Gas mount i use:

It clamps onto the edge of the desk.
I highly recommend getting a vesa mount for any dual monitor setups. These are just as a god send as well, with the ability to move the monitors into place on the fly.

You generally shouldn't be using applications full screen on any monitor in this class.

Use FancyZones or DisplayFusion or something to split it up into virtual screen areas. Super/ultra-wide is not a significant issue if you're using it properly.

But one super ultra wide can not replace 2 monitors with one in portrait and one in landscape.
Its IMO really that monitor in portrait which is important in the office setting for admin business, unless your a music editor, film editor, CG... something which requires a wider box in your field of work.

A ultra wide is good for home because of movies, but if i catch my admins watching movies on my time unless its some form of "how to" or compliance related material, well, i wouldn't of hired them.

I spent quite a bit of time looking for 34-36" 4k before... and found nothing.

I find my flat 40" too big - it'd def need to be curved to work. Have 2x 31.5" as well and they are a better fit.

Badgered work to get some of these to replace the standards POS 20" Dell peddle.

They're grand for excel and coding. Wouldn't be very sure on their colour accuracy but that doesn't appear important to you.

At £230 each you couldn't go far wrong. They have a VESA 100 mount (my home Samsungs dont) and are fairly compact on the desk.

That was the setup to use 15 years ago - time has moved on - you'll get more vertical displayed on a big 4k* than you will on a turned 27" - and you've the option of going beyond what seems the relative width of a postage stamp!

*big in this case would probably need to be 38+ so you can be sure of 100% scaling for the avg user's eyes

ASUS ROG 43" 4k 144hz.

ITS TOO BIG... This was my day with it testing driving it... and well i went back to my 34 ultra wides.

But it will give my LG OLED a good run for its money (compared side by side and 3/5 family members think the ASUS looks better in fluid movement (that HDR1000 is no joke) although a comparable OLED is cheaper then this monitor, but i don't need to worry about burn in or change my habits in front of my PC.

It is now going to go in my workout room, and i will pair it up with a 1080Ti, and run it as a HTPC monitor to watch whatever while i am on either my treadmill or bike.

But no.. i am done with trying to fit oversized monitors on my desk unless its a ultrawide. I honestly think 31.5 inch is more then enough for desk, anything more and its just too much. The monitor on the right is a 31.5 inch, and IMO its the perfect size if you want a standard wide.

I have the G9, and I agree with Aigomorla. Don't buy this for work.
