Yes, I can get a Herman Miller Aeron or a SteelCase Leap chair or a Humanscale Freedomchair but I would rather not spend 800+ for a chair. They are probably the best chairs on the market. But I want to find lowerpriced ergonomic chairs that dont sacrafice quality or comfort. I dont have a membership at cosco or samsclub so those arent options for me.

I think that fully depends on how big you are. A chair is going to feel different for a 6'8" 377lbs (me) guy than to a 5'8" 118lbs. (my sister) woman. Plus the ergo part depends on how you use it. While sitting are you playing games for a long time or typing, or browsing. Cause all of those actions require different motions and some chairs only account for the 'office enviroment' ie typing.

Im 5'9" 170. I do mixed use some typing some browsing but this question would be better off being generic so that anyone who is looking for a chair can benefit.

I was wondering the same thing, but I did see something that you put on your chair, and it's a type of massager type thing. Looked pretty sweet, saw it in some bed bath and beyond store or something a few months back.

I'm looking for one too, and I'm 6'5" 200lbs. Mostly programming.

I *do* have a Costco membership :)

Hey, guys. I work at Office Depot, so I've had a lot of experience sitting in and testing our chairs. I've owned a few as well, but I've always come back to my favorite. Check thisthis chair out. It's AMAZINGLY comfortable long term and is fully adjustble, all for $200. I highly recommend it and I love sitting in it. If you've got an Office Depot around you, go check it out. They should have one on the sales floor. Hope this helps!

Looking around I found 2 websites that had good office chair reviews.

http://www.nfib.com/object/IO_20009.html
http://www.consumersearch.com/www/office/office-chair-reviews/index.html

Both list the Ikea Joakim Swivel Chair in their reviews, only chair that made both reviews. Its also considered the best budget chair. I will go to IKEA some time this week and try it out. Price $149.99
For those who want cheaper 1 review also listed the Furniture At Work Hampton Leather Executive Chair sold at Office Depot. Only problem is Office Depot recommends this chair for casual use, up to three hours at a time. Price $89.99

Proprioceptive what is your opinion of the Hampton Leather Executive Chair and how would you rate it against that $200 Maverick Executive?

I wouldnt' bother with the Leather Executive. It's cheaply made if you ask me. It's really not even very comfortable. I'm now subscribed to this thread in case you have any other questions.

I just bought and put together this chair today http://store.yahoo.com/priority-store/sutopgrleofc.html, I paid 162.00 plus tax at Costco, took me 20 minutes and it came with the tools needed. I know you said you don't have a costco membership, so now might be a good time to get one. Let me tell you I went from a cheapo office depot 50.00 after rebate for the last 3 years and my back has the proof. I've been sitting in this new chair for over one hour and it feels like heaven. Food for thought.
