What is the best phone available for Sprint PCS?

What experiences have you had with your model?

thanks

I just got the Motorola Startac, this one. Very good so far. I replaced my older Qualcomm Thin Phone, which was a very good phone.

This one has the additional step of opening the phone when it rings, but on the plus side, it is lighter, battery lasts very long (I haven't timed it but probably a week on light usage). When you flip it open, it is long enough so that the ear part is on the ear, and the mic is actuall close to your mouth (not like some of those tiny Nokia phones that have the mic somewhere near my cheek bone.

I currently have the TouchPoint 100, which has been solid for me for over a year now. I'm waiting for a good PalmOS-based PDA+Phone to replace it. No need in having two units when one can do the job **with my current SprintPCS service**.

Speaking of such a project, anyone recommend burning software that will access CDDB and/or allow me to generate CD-Text info without much work?

I'd look at the Touchpoint models. I've had the Touchpoint 120 (dual band version of the original model 100) for well over a year now and it has had no problems from the get-go. The only reason I want to replace it with a newer Touchpoint model is because I want one with a speakerphone. I've carried my phone around every day and it's taken several falls, and except for some scuffs, it's no worse for the wear.

I just bought two Kyrocera/Qualcomm 2035s from Best Buy for Sprint PCS. Awesome phones! Dual band, web access, 200 number memory...much more. Easy to use and It would be hard to improve. Reception is crystal clear even in fringe areas.

Sprint PCS -
Avoid Nokia 51xx series - these phones generally suck

Qualcomm 2700 - INCREDIBLY solid, but a great OLDER phone

Qualcomm 1920/2760 Single/Dual Band "Thin" phone - Again these RULE My roomie has one + loves it.

Samsung 3500 - Described as awesome in every way. Battery, menus, everything. My sister's boyfriend has one and loves it.

Samsung 8500 - a friend of mine had one of the 7xxx Startacs for PCS and switched to this phone - loves it, says he'd never buy a Startac again.

Hope that helps.
If money was no issue I'd go for a Sumsung 8500. Otherwise a Samsung 3500 or a Qualcomm 1920/2760 Thin Phone.
peace
