I want to buy a CD receiver for my wife's car (2000 Honda Accord LX).
I'm thinking about Sony CDX4000x Crutchfield $159
Local Best Buy $149 (free installation)

I would like some input in this matter, because I don't know much on car stereo..

If you're comfortable with e-bay, search for Pioneer Premier DEH-520 or DEH-530, best you can get for under $200. Not sure if they'll carry these at Best Buy or not, might have the normal series (DEH-7200). Pioneer gives you the most options and the most power at the best price.

Free install at BB is usually a promo, have it a couple times a month. Then again most local car audio shops have installs for cheap ($1 installs, stuff like that) so might want to check those out too.

I would stay away from Sony. Of late, their decks seem to gimmicky and cheap.

For under $200, go with a Panasonic. They offer decent power (22-watts RMS) and they have a lot of features. If you can actually afford to spend more than that I would go with a Alpine or Nakamichi. You'll get quality like you've never heard before. But thats just MHO.
