The hotter the better.. My wife makes the best salsa. We are probably the only white people who are able to eat it (it is so hot)

Frontera

Is that from the Frontera Grill in Chicago? Went there once, and it was awesome!

That's the one, but I've never been to the restaurant, I just get the salsa from the grocer.

As far as in a jar goes, I like On The Border quite a bit. I haven't tried many different ones though.

I have some hot sauce called Garlic Sniper that spices it up a bit.

I forgot the name, but its sold at sams club, and it is just like restauarant salsa, not like the crap you get from tostitos or something thats just a paste. This thing is just loaded with freshness. It might be "on the border" but i forget.

Herdez is some of the best.

It comes in jars. If you don't think it's the best of the stuff that isn't home-made, odds are you haven't tried it.

Obviously home-made and fresh is the best.

Homemade is much better than store bought. However, I don't get homemade that often being here in MI.

I am not much of a hot salsa fan cause I can't take the heat too well. Mild and Medium are for me. There are two kinds of store bought salsa that I like. The first kind is from the Desert Pepper Trading Company out of El Paso TX. Their mild and medium salsas are excellent. I find it in the Meijer ethnic foods section. The "salsa diablo" is a little too hot for me. The second kind I like is in the grocers refrigeration section and it is Vidalia (sp) Onion Salsa. Can't remember who makes it though. Not very hot, but very flavorful!

The salsa at On The Border and Don Pablos is quite good too. I can't wait until the second week of October when I make a trip down to Dallas for a week of vacation. I eat a ton of great Tex Mex down there. ;)

on the border blows.

arriba is pretty damn good.

i like the stuff from pappasitos, especially when served a bit warm (~100 degrees). also, the hula hut in austin has damn good salsa.
