Oh, and Linksys' bigger brother, Cisco, is pretty much the industry standard when it comes to enterprise-level networking hardware.

D-Link is generally the cheapest.

Linksys is generally the most popular.

Netgear is the most solidly built with it's metal cases.

Given that Netgear is obviously at least on par with the rest of them, might I point you to this rebate offer from Netgear. Take a look at the models, find which one's right for you, and then find which of the listed participating retailers are offering it. I got a nice 802.11g wireless router with a PC card yesterday for $55. Damn good deal.

Like most others, I say Linksys. Been using their wired products for years and never had any problems. I've got a Netgear wireless router setup and it works fine, but it likes to reboot itself ever so often. Not enough to make me want to replace it, just enough to make me mad every once in a while.... 🙂

Ditto. Had a Linksys that would lock up several times a day, then got the Netgear and used it for about 2 years with no trouble at all. Got a D-Link 614+ because I thought I needed Wi-Fi and discovered that it had a dead LAN port. Talked myself out of the need for Wi-Fi and hooked up my old Netgear and it has once again been as solid as I could want. Works perfect now going on 3 years.
