I'm doing some research on which brand to buy for the Geforce 4 Cards and I found out there was a lot more companies out there that made Geforce 4. To narrow down the brands, could you all help me by doing this:

Directions: Pick out the TOP 3 BRANDS for Geforce4 that you think is the best and/or you think I should consider researching on.

The brands are:

ABIT
Albatron

Gainward
Inno3D
JoyTech
Leadtek
MSI
OCsystem

Leadtek and Gainward. Some people have said that they've had issues with Gainward but their boards have always been excellent for me.

i argue that it's a matter of personally preference and priorities
you hafta balance price/performance/features
and any other quality you like about a card
each manufacturer manages to maintain some kind of nitch even if very slight

those albatron cards look nice if yur an overclocker or just appreciate the cooling on it
the ti4200p turbo is sweet

MSI=most bang for your buck, the cables, software,a nd featues can not be beat for the price. Check out the MSI cards at newegg.com

The albatron's are spose to be really good also, if you got the money, I would get a gainward....

I am researching, but there are a TON of companies that makes GF4 cards. I'm just trying to hear people's opinion and narrowing it down to the top 3 choices overall.

if i was going to buy a GF4 right now it would be between

asus and albatron (i like their turbo card)

i usually pay the little extra to get top quality
i never really liked msi but they are a big company with a good product line as well i guess....

If the Leadtek Ti 4200 uses the same (or better) 2d filters as there Geforce 3TI series does, I simply do NOT even have a choice about wich company I will buy from. because there will be only one choice for me. LEADTEK!

Leadtek at top spot, infact it beat the Gainward in a few reviews so my order would be Leadtek followed by Gainward and Visiontek.Remember the image quality on the GF4s is tighter between brands meaning in general the image quality is very good.

Isn't VisionTek has been out of business for 4 months? Don't flame on me if I'm wrong. :p Just heard it from someone else. If they are, wouldn't be bad to buy their GF4 cards because of maybe no warranties?

About the Leadtek, I've read some reviews about them and they said the fans were somewhat loud. Is it loud enough that it might irritate someone?

What I'm looking for, is a card that has good performances for the price. It being quiet would be nice and since I'm building and modifying a computer, the card having some sort of style (colors, neat looking fans) wouldn't be bad either.. (Thought it might not matter since you probably wont see the fans and everything on the card)

I currently have 3 Gainward cards: a GeForce2 Pro/450, a GeForce3 Ti 550 and a GeForce4 Ti 4200. I've flirted with a couple of other brands, e.g., Leadtek and Chaintech, but I always go back to Gainward.

I have a Creative card, works OK for me, Sisoft Sandra 2003 says it's an MSI board, do Creative source from MSI?
I know someone who recommends Gainward.

Another vote for Gainward. I've had 5 of them and they all work perfect. Not a problem one, from the GF2MX to the GF4Ti. I also have a Visiontek GF2Ti which has been solid as well. Very clean video.

I would recommend Leadtek. The improved visual quality is easily worth the $20 or so. Gainward would be my second choice, although by a rather long distance apart from Leadtek. If you are looking for a cheap card gainward is a better choice than Leadtek.

Leadtek 100% of the way - It beat every card on an average spread over the reviews i read.

Beat the Gainward Golden Samples in o/c'ing iirc - might not have represented the true trend.

Albatron Turbos intrigued me - looks like a good idea..

i own a gainward geforce 3 ti-200 golden sample. it has gotten me to ti-500 speeds through overclocking. i have not had a problem with it so far. it has great image quality and rock solid performance. my vote goes for gainward.
