my roommate has a PS2 and I love baseball games, but dont have my own console and dont look into games that often...last night i rented high heat 2004 from blockbuster, basically it was the only game they had at all, except Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick which now seems like the better choice

maybe i havent found the right settings yet, but this game sucks compared to other baseball games i have played

any suggestions on good games or if new ones are coming out?

Not sure if its best for ps2, but on the PC my favorite baseball game (since the death of the High Heat series) is MVP Baseball 2004. Its great on the pc and with all the user mods it looks great and of course has the updated stats..etc. Since MVP was a multiconsole game I'm sure the PS2 version is just as good minus all the downloadable stuff.

MVP Baseball 2005 is looking good at the moment. Not sure about Sega's ESPN game though. I saw a video on IGN with the Mets vs Yankees and I had some issues with it such as wrong batting stances, inaccurate models, inaccurate chants ("Here we gooo Mets...here we go.. wtf is that??!! Its "Lets go Mets"!!).

MVP 2004 ruled. Great pitcher/batter interface. About the only thing wrong with it was poor fielding AI. Sometimes it takes your SS/2B a couple of years to get the ball to second for a double play, and center field in Fenway caused havoc on the pathfinding abilities of the outfielders, resulting in a very high amount of triples and inside the park home runs. Besides that though, it is by far the best baseball game I've ever played. If 2005 improves on those faults, it will just be about perfect.
