I have a 15" monitor and want to upgrade to 17" or better. When i say best bang for the buck obviously i mean i don't want to go broke for a new monitor.

The 19 inch monitors are in the sweet spot right. I plan on getting the 950P soon by Samsung. Supposed to be a GREAT monitor, and has won a lot of round-ups based on performance and great price. It's about 240~.

Bojax: I agree with Luckster. KDS monitors have an excellent cost-to-value ratio and one of the best warranties in the industry.

Are they the best monitor you can buy? No. Do they give you the "best bang for your buck?" Yes, IMHO.

Well considering i have a Staples about a mile from my house i could probably save $40.00 on shipping. If i could get this for $200.00 that would be great. I know Staples has alot of 20-30 of $200.00 coupon's too.

I have also been in the market for a new monitor. Everytime i think i have a good deal, someone has a big complaint about the monitor in question, and i pass it up. Which of the monitors above have the best overall apeal, the KDS or the Samsung, as far as price/performance/warranty/overall quality?

"Search" the Hot Deals Forum. Many brand new excellent and inexpensive monitors going cheap now.

The FLAT Samsung 900NF is around $250. Flat 17" well under $200. Generic 19" for around $150.

ALWAYS check Hot Deals.

Luckster: can you give me a more specific model number? there are many different type of KDS model's. I saw one in Hot deal's forum but many people were complaining about problem's they were having.

soulm4tter: Mostly home use. gaming, surfing, some Excel and Microsoft money.

the one in the hot deals forum from about 3 weeks back is the one. I had to return one to staples because of a small dent/chip in the front plastic, but other than that, both are working perfectly mechanically.

The Philips 107s21 17" monitor is an excellent SOHO monitor. I'm using one myself. Running 1280x960.

It costs about USD$230

While KDS are no as good as other monitors, they probably dominate the Bang/Buck category

I didn't expect much for the money that KDS AV-7TF cost, but when I saw the picture my jaw hit the floor. I'll probably buy another soon. I just hope they hold up over time. No idea about their longevity, but there's no question about that picture! Bright Trinitron colors and shadow mask sharp. MMMMMmmmmmmmmm good!

I'd go for the Samsung 950P or the 955DF. I have the 955DF and it's good for the buck
950P is a "curved" screen but has more bandwidth than the 955DF which is flat
they're all pretty inexpensive and has good quality

goul: I would say that the post pikachu made is a pretty hot deal. Are you determined to get a 19" because $179.00 for a 17" all flat trinitron is a great deal.

The main reason why im going for a 19" is that i dont plan on upgrading for at least a couple of years... and 18 inches of real estate looks sweeet
....... but if i dont have enough $$ then $179.00 for a 17" all flat trinitron IS a great deal.
