I have just bought a P4 combo (2.4c-M0 stepping, 3.4@ 1.65 vcore) that was in an H2O cooled rig, I need to get a good HSF for it. Zalman 7000 or thermalright sk94 or 97? I have a Zalman 6000cu on my amd system, it is surely quiet BUT it cools no better than the stock HSF. Or is there a better product out there? I will have this in a Lian li 61 case.

I'd go with the Thermalright SP-94. It's arguably the best P4 heatsink that you can buy these days. The Zalman 7000 is also very good (and much better than the Zalman 6000) but it's forte is quiet cooling, not just out-and-out hardcore cooling. The SP94 is better for that.

Ralf, I see in your rigs profile you are using a P4 Zalman, then you speak from experience. I am looking for quiet too, I realize I will have to compromise a bit on both ends. I will go with the SLK, at least I can change fans if unsatisfied with the noise level. Thanks!
