For OCing Abit KG7-RAID, it's da best. But if u aren't ocing, then ECS K7S5A (SiS 735)is really the best.

You'll probably want to join the great majority of people here and buy an Epox 8K7A, seems to be a pretty good motherboard, and not a horrible price on it either.

The EPoX EP-8K7A has my vote. Great price, proven stability, and excellent features. Plus it has lots of overclocking features also. The ABit KG7 is newer and has 2 more memory slots, but you have to use registered ECC DDR RAM in them to use all 4. And the ABit has a slightly better performance and Softmenu III but they usually cost about $160+. The EPoX has Postman and it costs only about $120. So, basically, you are paying $40 more for Softmenu III. That's why I prefer the EPoX.

Personally I'd take an MSI k7 Master becuase it's fully jumperless and with my vision even a single jumper is a challenge...and the Epox uses a few...

However for most people I'd say go Epox 8K7A.

  That's why I wouldn't get an Abit board... ;)

Seriously, the Epox 8K7A and MSI K7Master are both very good boards. The Asus A7M266 is also nice, but it doesn't support multiplier changes. I wouldn't pay extra for a board that has a higher chance of dieing on me...
