I am lucky enough to be able to play EQ in my downtime at work. Altho my work PC is decen (P3 800, 256ram, 20 gig), the video card I have in there is a Geforce2 MX400 w/32 megs on it. It's OK, but I really need something better. Shadows of Luclin is sweet, but this card is lame.

The difference between playing at work on the MX, and at home on my GF3, is like night and day. There has got to be something better than the MX400!!! (besides voodoo 5 hopefully!!)

The only thing that would be better than an MX400 would be a voodoo5. There's just nothing out that uses PCI, because they all require the bandwidth from AGP. There's not much you can do without an AGP anymore.

Yeah the options are limited, there is the Radeon SDR but I think it's performence will be pretty much around the MX400's.

codeyf, unfortunately none :(

that 64meg mx400 PCI might be the most worthless card out there and is geared purely at OEMs to make their systems look nicer. Its slower ram than the 32meg version and the PCI bus limits memory bandwidth, effectively making the extra memory useless. There is an AT review around here somewhere I read about a year ago when trying to make up my mind. I'd say stick with that card unless you can get a V5 PCI cheap (which isn't likely :( ).
