I looked at the Optiquest Q115 it was $540, I probably wouldn't want to spend more than that on a monitor unless absolutely neccesary for good 1600x1200. What monitor do you think I should get?

personaly i think evenyone should own a trinitron, you can get an e500 just a bit more than the optiquest or a g500 for a bit more yet.

I got a Sun Microsystems Dual Sync and Flat Display 21'' monitor. I am running 1600 by 1200 beautifully. I heard the Sun monitor is made with Sony's Trinitrons parts so I would go with a Sony monitor.

I've had a ViewSonic G810 for two years now (21"), running at 16x12. Absolutely terrific monitor. Not sure about the price, though.

I've got a Viewsonic P810 and it runs perfectly at 1600x1200. I got it used for $250 US. Think about buying a used or reconditioned model and save 70 to 80% off the retail price.
