I would like to get a 2 megapixel camera as I would not like to spend that much, would just like to keep the cost down. Which of the 2 megapixels is a good camera and why?????
I have an Olympus D-510 Zoom, and I love it: 2.0MP, 3x optical zoom, easy-to-use menu system, great pictures, and it runs on 4 rechargeable AA batteries . Gimme a second and I'll find a link.
Rankor is right. For 2MP the Canon A60 is one of the best. It has manual aperture, exposure, focus and ISO - so you can use it pretty much full manual as well as on Auto. The A40 was a good camera but that's just not the case anymore when the A60 and A70 are out.
You can consider other brands besides Canon, but I don't think anyone else has a 2MP with full manual controls.
I'd go with the Powershot A60 too. Rankor is right when you should probably just go with the A70 anyway. An extra MP for $50? That is a bargain, and both cameras are actually identical in features besides the MP thing. If you want more information, I recommend DPreview.com
Not sure if you have a Best Buy near you but I bought 2 Fuji Fine Pix 2650's this weekend for $99 each - not refurb's. A lot depends on what features you want. The 2650 has macro, motion recording (don't get it for that), optical zoom, and the reviews are pretty good. I also have a Fine Pix 1400 which is why I went with Fuji again. The color quality is excellent for the price.
