What is the begining?

In class we just started a unit in cell and genes. I don't remember that well but one of the things that I read in the book is the Cells are only made from other cells. Well what cell made the first cell?
And other thing if computer are made of 0 and 1's and a program starts of with 0111 0101 1010 1010 (for example) how does it begin if there are nocodes in place yet to say that the first group means anything.

Many biologists theorize the first cells originated out a collection of several complex molecules. Basically what you are asking is how life began, which is another much larger question

another thing in Genetics is there are always exceptions. Theres always something that doesn't completely follow the pattern predicted. Mutations for example.

Ahh... I see that you've begun to ask life's most important questions. If you can find the answer, you'll be greatly enlightened, to say the least. I don't like to carry on these conversations in the threads (due to flames, etc)... nor is Highly Technical necessarily the place to discuss this. If you want some one on one discussion, PM me.

Like me? Both of my parents have blue eyes, and mine are brown. I wanna get some dna tests, but I don't really care.

as my bio teacher said, "time to check the milkman" 😉

Thats just regular heterozygous alleles. I was thinking more about mutations accuring in the genome.

I love it when someone gets those questions we all ask ourselves at some point in life.

HOW DID I GET HERE? WHERE DID I COME FROM? HOW DID THE EARTH FORM? HOW DID ANYTHING GET HERE?

My freinds, you can choose whichever answer you like, but you will choose one of the following 2 answers:

1. We were created. (i.e. GOD)

2. We just appeared. (i.e. big bang, then sludge, then rocks, then life)

BOTH OF THESE ANSWERS ARE RELIGIONS.

It's a belief system that you must choose between.

I chose #1 because #2 is just to difficult for me to believe. Make something out of nothing? Let me know when science can make something out of nothing and explain it to everyone. If we could do that, wouldn't that just be Heaven? Parden the Pun!

Well you are ignoring his second question and I will attempt to answer it...A computer is just a BIG path that has transistors along the path (other things too...) but its just electricity that runs through it and flicks some transistors to ON and others to OFF...then the next electrons switch it again and they do all kinds of things, gradually being able to make calculations. Then more complex and everything. It really makes you appreciate computers when you understand the bare essentials. It is amazing how fast computers are improving. The average consumer never even thinks twice about it.

No, blue eyes are homozygous recessive.
