What is the average amount of water a human is supposed to drink daily?

I just got through drinking two 1.5 liter bottles of water. I'm sick again so I'm trying to drink as much water as I can.

I think they say try to drink 8 8 oz. glasses of water a day...which is 64 oz...which is I don't know what.

*Edit* DON'T drink 6 gallons a day...you will make yourself more sick or possibly get water poisoning...or you might just have to pee a lot, I dunno.

Not all that hard to do. I probably drink a little over a gallon a day.

16 oz = pint

2 pints = quart

32 oz = quart

4 quarts = gallon

128 oz = gallon

I think it is like 8 cups, or a gallon, something along those lines. I drink an average of 2 gallons of water daily, of course I work in the Florida Sun all day so I sweat most of it right back out.

Yup there is such thing as water poisoning. I can't recall what it does to your brain something like diluting something which ends up causing hemoriage?

Yeah, but it's not from the water directly. Having that much water pass through your system depletes things like sodium and potassium levels, which can kill you when they get too low.
