What is that file sharing program between two computer only?

I heard about this file sharing program privately between families and friends, can you help me out here?
maybe two computer to less than 5 computers could see each other and transfer back and forth
 
never heard of it. though its easy to set up a system like that using Aol Instant messenger, so just family/ friends can access certain shared files.
 
LAN? i couldent get mine set up, i suck at it, i just use FTP

WASTE would work as well as AIM and just about everything
 
i have a real nifty tool here that i use to xfer files with my homeboys. compared to MSN/AIM it gives me noticeably faster download rate, lets me resume and has a super simple and intuitive interface and is light as hell weighing in @ 724kb total size. too bad it is in korean, there are so many great programs available only in korean 🙁

unless you are behind a router, someone has will have to be in passive mode and passive cant connect to passive so trnasfers will only go 1 way

or you could pass it through the router
