Just sample the noise to create a noise print and feed your signal through a NR circuit to chop it out. It's utterly ridiculous that the broadcasters are not doing this yet! If I have the capability to do this in a B-movie studio why don't they? Is there some law that prevents them from altering the audio?

the thing is fifa doesn't have to do shit, leave the horns in the stands. the TV broadcasters should simply be filtering the sound out, its really fing simple to do that

i enjoy some of the crowd noise like the stadium going ballistic and cheering when a goal is scored. blocking out all noise except the commentators will take away from that. Besides, the cheering noise cant make it to the mics over those annoying vuvuzela noise. I really really hope FIFA bans them. argh

"You find that they emanate from the horn which was used by our forefathers to call meetings," he said. "As our guests, please embrace our culture, please embrace the way we celebrate.

they were invented in mexico in the 1960s. so that's about as fake as south carolina's having the confederate flag on their capital building "since time immemorial," er, the 1960s.

I want to hear the commentary, strategy discussion and history lessons (but without the hornets' nest sound).

On the radio this morning, the guy doing the sports recap had the horn noise blaring behind him. Pretty funny because they completely blocked him out.

It is very annoying, but I can't see banning it.
