But you won't benefit from device syncing capabilities, and you'll have to sign in again every time you want to check your Gmail, comment on YouTube, or access your Google Drive.
That's how I roll, I don't use Chrome, I don't want/need device syncing, and I sign in every time I do those things, and sign out when I'm done. I know they can still track me via other methods, but probably less effectively.

I'm not all that worried about being tracked. WTH can they do? Send the feds after me? I'm not a criminal, I don't do child porn. I'm honest. If I get bombarded with advertising I don't like, I ignore it... I know what I want and need. They're not going to screw me up. I look after my sanity.

It's more like... "fuck you, if you want my data, you can bloody well pay me for it". It's not any concern whatsoever to do with legal ramifications, but rather flipping the bird to a megacorp.

At what price? I can flip the bird to my local utilities, to my HMO, to whomever but a lot of times when you do that you're screwing yourself more than anything. As has been readily admitted here, you are not going to be able to shield yourself from investigative internet snooping. It's just going to be out there and if they want it, they'll get it. Sell it, blah blah blah. So what if some entities have paid for "my data?" I have tons of data, personally, and it wouldn't do shit for anybody but me. But to me it IS valuable. To others? They wouldn't know what to do with it.

At what price? A slight inconvenience of signing in when I want to use their service, doesn't seem too bad to me.
It's fine if you don't care about your data privacy, some people do, I'm just explaining why because you asked. I'm definitely not screwing myself here, I still get what I want, and they get less out of me for it. However, your data DOES do something for them, that's why they give you services for "free". You are the product, you're fine with that, I'm not here to tell you you're wrong for being fine with it, just as I'm not wrong for not being fine with it. Most people are fine with it.

I'm not saying I'm fine with it. I'm saying I'm not very cognizant of the issues.
