In the world of wood working tools, there are some very solid deals to be had at Temu. They have a few specialty tools that are top notch, and bunch of woodpeckers knockoffs that appear to be solid contenders. Of course they also have a vast assortment of useless garbage you have to wade through.Just another banggood or other direct-from-China stores.
You can tell that right away because the prices are too low to expect anything but the Harbor Freight approach "Use once or very lightly" to most products.
I've seen ads for it now, and my partner's anti-vaxxer sister (who also doesn't want to apply for food stamps because she doesn't think the US government should have your address) apparently loves buying stuff from Temu. Since she's poor and all.I still haven't heard of it in the wild. This thread, both before and now are the only times I've seen that word.

Heh, you think she's vulnerable to simple facts and logic?Have you told her using a smartphone is like the ultimate the mankind's worst surveillance ever imagined?
I watch YT videos ad free in Chrome. I do go to Brave when popups happen at sites that I can't dismiss with a click. I believe that in Brave, Java Script is disabled by default. I haven't changed that.Err there are ways to watch youtube without ads....
I use Brave Browser
With what addon? Pretty sure YouTube still shows ad in chrome, I mean Google is not going to block its own revenue source.I watch YT videos ad free in Chrome. I do go to Brave when popups happen at sites that I can't dismiss with a click.
I have made two orders (total) at Temu that worked out, but I'm good at online shopping.
Extension: Adblock Plus, free ad blocker. With what addon? Pretty sure YouTube still shows af in chrome, I mean Google is not going to block its own revenue source.
Brave blocks them outright. No addon needed.Extension: Adblock Plus, free ad blocker.
I think there might be a few exceptions, but almost all the YT videos I see in Chrome don't have those e.g. 20 second ads at the beginning. I see some flak on screen sometimes, which I just ignore unless I'm curious, etc.
I am not aware of a downside to using that extension in Chrome.Brave blocks them outright. No addon needed.

Yeah, the Snopes article that was posted here seems to indicate that, spending lots on ads and selling products at a loss to buy market share.Or they're just paying for lots of advertising, and people are jumping on board (because advertising generally works).
Please explain why this is detrimental. It's more the Chrome use. Google collects a lot of your data.

My volunteer gig extensively uses Google Cloud services. I figure I can't use that without a Google account active. I also sometimes make Youtube Comments. That too evidently requires being signed into a Google account.I just googled xd

I nef on FF and watch youtube on Brave. It has a convenient tab grouping feature. I open up a bunch of Chinese animation and it is grouped nicely. And that tab group shows up on the bottom of the browser, much more user friendly.I use firefox with ublock origin, but I have heard good things about brave.
