What it is space? (Ya know, where the stars are and everything? :)) It seems that it is hard to describe it and have a explanation for it. Does it ever end? If so, whats after it? Very werid...(Inspired from another thread)

Space is pretty close to absolute nothingness.
With lots of black matter floating around.

OK, so people pretty much agree that space is nothingness, but for those who believe in the Big Bang theory, then space is expanding. How can nothing expand??? Hmmmmm.

Space is filled with only a few molecules per m3. It is, however, filled with photons, deadly radiation and some other things.

It's absolutely not 'nothingness'.

And don't forget the 4th dimension: Time. Time is everywhere. Further you've got the Zero-Point energy, which keeps about everything together.

Space is just the space between planets, stars, comets etc. ;)

What's space?
It's the samething that's inbetween the nitrogen, oxygen, argon, etc. elements that are in front of your face.

And are their other universes? Would there be anyway to get to them? Blackhole maybe? What would happen if you reached the edge of the universe? Could you go no farther, would you go into nothingness, or would you enter another universe?

You could never reach "the end" of the universe, because as soon as you got there, it wouldn't be the end any longer. Something (you) would be existing there, so nothing can ever reach the end of space.

Similar to the Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle.

I happen to think that the known universe is actually a black hole in a bigger universe, which is a black hole in a bigger universe, and so on in a fractal manner. Matter from the bigger universe is being sucked into the black hole to create material for the smaller universe. Of course some of the laws of physics from one universe to another is different. And is a giant naked penguin really to much of a thing to ask for? So when a star in one universe explodes, it creates a "big bang" starting the smaller universe. Then again, everything could just be part of a really big lifeform. Each planet a cell or some mineral flowing in the creature's bloodstream. Maybe even a giant naked penguin with a giant red, apple-size cherry. The penguin could be wearing a tie and some clothes for those who have a problem with nudity. But not any reddish colored ties, that'd be just too weird.

I'm a bit lost, but when did a giant naked penguin come into the picture as part of the universe?

Insufficient data currently is available to us to definitively answer your question.

I guess that leaves us, once again, with faith which is known to fill the space between one's ears.

I thought the role the giant naked penguin played was perfectly obvious.:|
I know what'll clear things up. How about if I allow the penguin to wear some gay little shorts with suspenders? But no tie with the suspenders, unless it's a bow-tie. But still the tie can't be red, for obvious reasons. And the giant apple size cherry is a must with the giant naked penguin or everyone'll just get confused. How's that, all clear now?

Space is how long it takes an object to travel between two distances relative to it's size.

Fiddy, I think you're refering to the other component of Space-Time. ;)

You've been drinking tonight? ;)
