What is server memory?

I was just given a stick of Kingston KTC-PRL133/512 ce which turns out to be memory for a server. What's the difference? I know it's error correction, which I understand can slow the system down, but other than that is there a difference? Can I use it in my AMD 1.2Ghz desktop without any issues?
