My hard drive has been getting full of data without installing to much i`ve emptied the obvious ie , temporary internet files etc but i have folders like SOFTWARE DISTRIBUTION which has nearly a gig in it a SERVICE PACK folder with 500meg in 200 meg in profile folder , i was wondering if it`s safe to empty these folders i run xp pro

Many thanks

Yes, it is. You may not be able to uninstall the service pack or repair it using file check, though. You can also delete the folder

$NtServicePackUninstall$

if you can do without uninstall option. This one can take up a few hundred megabytes, too.
