Pay that you were previously owed usually.

Example for clarification:

You get a pay increase, but they don't process it for two months. You complain about it so they go back to the effective date and pay you the difference (equal to the amount of the pay raise) up to the current pay period end date.

Did you have an amount in there? Or is it just a placeholder in the event that you may get retro pay down the road? If it's $0.00 in that field, then it's just a place holder.

well basically on this paystub I have the amount for 80 hours, then the retropay is about half of that and is just extra as far as I can tell
