hahah...he means join his mini team for rc-5 cracking.
check out http://www.anandtech.com/rc5.html for info on it. i'm not on a mini team but i am cracking for Team Anandtech. head on over to the distributed computing forum. us, crackers got our own forum so you know it's some good stuff.
RC5 is a contest that distributed.net has entered to try and decipher a message using the RSA RC5-64 encryption scheme. There are 1.8x10^19 possible "keys" that need to be checked. You computer downloads millions of those keys at a time and trys them all to see if they decrypt the message. Then your computer sends the results back to distributed.net. You can find FAQs about setting up and running the client at the Team Anandtech site. If it was denilfloss who is recruiting you, he probably also provided a link to a preconfigured client.
Hope this helps! and feel free to ask more questions, either here or in the distributed computing forum.
I'm probaly gonna get flamed for this, but I really don't see the point in cracking for RC5. What do you get out of it?? Anything at all, mabye money??
Woodchuck, you're thinking backward. Think like this. It ain't gonna cost you anything. PM dennilfloss and ask for instructions on how to be assimilated. Do it now. I want you on our team. We will love you.
