What is Proper Sempron 2400 Temperatures?

I have a ASUS A7V400 and a 2400 Sempron processor. I am reading 58 C temp on the CPU temperature. Is that too high? Thanks for any help you might be able to offer.

That sounds a bit warm to me, but maybe someone else knows what should be expected. Is that with the AMD stock fan and heatsink?

58C is CRAZY for a sempron. My 2200+ @1.78GHz idles ~33c, load ~39c

Yes that is a stock AMD fan and heat sink. An other weird thing is the motherboad reads 30 C but the CPU reads 58C. Should return the CPU as faulty or should I think qabout upgrading the fan and heatsink. The chip has not been overclocked everything is runing at factory default settings. Thank you for any help or ideas as I am new at this and am not sure but did not want to fry the CPU.
