In Crysis and Far Cry 2, it say's something in the game settings about "post processing," what is that? What does it do? What are the advantages of having it placed to a higher setting?

well to be fair what he did was about right. I mean asking a question like that is pretty silly when you can just google it for yourself.

Well that defeats the point in a forum dosent it, plus sometimes wikipedia is far too long winded and you want a simple explanation of things.

Jalf explains it, whether he is correct or not i have no idea, probably is though.

Let us analyze the word.
post, meaning after.
processing, meaning to compute

By just looking at the roots of the word, we can quickly assume that it means "Things applied after the main process.". In the context of a game, the main processes the rendering of the 3d environment. After that, you have things like blur effects, bloom effects, ect. that aren't necessarily rendered in the first go around.

Well that defeats the point in a forum dosent it

many things are not easily googleable or even googleable at all.

for example, there is a program for viewing nfo files called iNFO.
good luck finding it while googling for its name.

A forum lets you also discuss things in greater depth then wikipedia. Wikipedia is often wrong and incomplete.

for example, there was no wikipedia entry for TRIM until I went and created one on 21:20, 16 May 2009... although what i originally wrote has been all completely modified and greatly improved on since into more simple to understand jargon free terms :p

Had I not read every article written about the subject and discussed it in depth in the forums I could never have written said wikipedia article in the first place.

Not to mention wikipedia is horrible on anything related to history or politics, simply presenting the opinions of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Wales who now controls it after driving out the other co-founder http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Sanger
Let us not forget massive arbitrary deletions over "non-relevance" diminishing its value (since you might want to look up information that wikipedia considers not important) which occurred as a direct result of funding issues rather then actual relevance issues.

or issues like this one:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Acid3#Score_goes_down

Now don't get me wrong, wikipedia is a useful tool... but don't take it as gospel. And definitely don't use it for medical advice, political or historical accuracy, etc.

you searched for "free nfo file reader" not for "info". you also found the wrong program...
you found "info reader"
here is its official website: http://my-tiny-programs.tripod.com/
the program in question is called "info"
here is its website: http://sourceforge.net/projects/info/

I have downloaded info reader and have verified it is:
1. a completely different program
2. by a different author.
3. You found a link at some downloading website which is a pain to download from and is plastered with ads. I provided above the link to the actual authors site which lets you just download it without wading through ads.
