One of my PSU has a label that corresponds grey wire to "P.G.". I searched the net with the keyword ATX and PG. The closest match was "PG delay" and they were about 300ms. What is PG delay? Couldn't find a site that explains the meaning of it.

Most likely "Power Good", the 300ms is the time from when the power good line goes from good to bad in the case of a fault.

Propagate/Generate Delay. I almost forgot from my power electronics course few years ago. I believe it has to do with signal strength and integrity... something along those lines. The inherent time delay of how long some signal reaches a PG block and then gets retransmitted to the rest of the circuit (blocks). sorry, all i can remember ...

<< The PSU signals the MB that the power is no longer good, this signals the MB to shut down. >>

strange... the power supply could just as well powre itself off. how exactly would the mobo power itself down? or would it just tell the power supply to shut down then? you wouldn't want the mobo to tell the OS to shut down cleanly, since with bad power, you don't konw that data is accurate any more, right?
