I have it in Device Manager and don't know what it is. I just reinstalled Windows and this stayed in there. I have Epox 8K7A, Hercules GTXP - one of them could be it.

i think it's just your pci bus. does it have an exclamation or something next to it in device manager? cause if not, then there's nothing to worry about right?

do you have a via chipset? (i'm not familiar with your epox mobo) if so, have you loaded the 4-in-1's?

When you look at the properties for it, whats the error code it gives? Try doing a search in M$ Techent, i've done this before for similar device manager issues and found solutions.

BTW, are we talking windows 98 or 2000?

Here you go:

PCI patch:

Down near the bottom you will find a working link for the pci16W.zip patch.

Description:
Windows 95/98?ÅPCI System Management Bus?Windows 98 Second Edition?Windows NT

This is kind of a odd problem though, this patch use to be on Via's page for the longest time until a few months ago when it disappeared. I think the newest 4in1's (or miniports for some AMD chipsets/Hybrids/Asus ect.)have incorporated this patch or made it obselete. In the few hundred builds I've done lately I have needed to use this patch about 25% of the time, even though some systems with exact configs require it and the next one doesn't.Strange...
Installing it can be tricky as well, some times you can run the setup program and other times that won't work and you need to update the driver from Device Manager and point to the inf file. Hopefully one will work! :)

Worked! No wonder you are Elite Member :) It was Power Management, something that gave me little trouble, so hopefully with this, it's going to be gone.
