What is Nvidia's Quincunx and 4xS Antialiasing??

I just bought a gf4 4200. AA options are 2x, quinxunx, 4x, and 4xS.

Can someone tell me what is quincunx and 4xS?

thx. sound like i should always use quincunx if it looks like 4xAA but only taking a performance hit of 2xAA. or is that just nvidia properganda?

Quincunx does give you close to 4X quality at 2X cost, but it also loves to blur text and other things. So in things like FPS Quincunx isnt too bad, but in alot of games I prefer 2X (Dark Age of Camelot, Asheron's Call 2 etc... are what I play most). It doesnt blur the text half as bad as Quincunx.

I've noticed with the GeForce 4 that the Quincunx AA is much improved over the GeForce 3.
