I find this kind of rhetoric demeaning and infuriating and people using it was the reason I severed myself from the whole ABT thread after a while. You're heaping accusations at specific people without directly using their names and using weasel words ("perhaps", "it seems", "I believe/think") which allows you to not take any responsibility and to create a false veil of impartiality. Either you call someone out, present specific posts/lines/sentences to support your claims and let everyone reading your post decide for themselves whether your reasoning is valid, or you stop the "Arbiter of Thruth" act.

Whoosh!...LOL

Interesting that you felt compelled to reply, do you feel perhaps some of your posts only fanned the fire, rather than water it?
Im not calling out names, but from what i read of the last few pages, most posts were inflammatory, whether started or not!
It is getting to the stage in here where discussion is impossible. I personally think the only recourse is to separate the the forum....

Separating the forum wouldn't matter. Trolls will just cross over.

Trolls aren't the problem. Splitting the forum would create two insular circles that chew out anyone with a dissenting opinion and in no way facilitate discussion. There are plenty of places one can go to get their ego stroked for their choice in GPUs of all things.

I think the 660Ti should compete with the 7950. I haven't followed up much on 660 non-Ti but I am guessing it'll be $199-250, launch around Sept 6.

Would it be wise to cancel my 7850 order (on backorder, 2 weeks in and still no clue about delivery date), and wait it out to see what the 660 range brings us?

Best Buy had some "early" sales get out... and there are youtube videos ect of people benchmarking the 660ti.
Seems to be above a stock 7850, and below a 7950.

So I guess it comes down to how the 660ti is priced (rumored to be 300$).
Should you cancel your 7850 order.... I would, or at the very least find a differnt dealer.
Waiting 2 weeks for a order is BS (without any clue of delivery dates mentioned).

(which is why id cancel it, not really because I think a 660ti will be more bang-4-buck).

I must say, this thread is hilarious.

I missed the memo about getting 3 470's to replace the 2 6870's I sold.

Dang me for wanting more than 2 gigs o VRAM on a video card I plan to keep for 1.5 ~ 2 years.

7950 == much win after the price drop.

Thank you for the advise Arkadrel :)
Hopefully I can get back my money when I cancel the 7850 order...

Since there are so many of you here in this thread with mulitple GPU setup and/or have disdain for that 470 or 6950 or whatever you dislike, you can ship it to me. I will take that source of frustation off your hands for $25 plus shipping. If you have a tri setup giving a card to me will still leave you two! :)

I've suggested and asked for separated sub-forums for years now. They won't do it. Too much traffic or hit revenue to be lost if the fuel is suddenly missing from the fires. Inflamed egos and enraged posters post so much more than calm posters because there is a need to one up the opponent. This, as you can see adds up to a shite ton of hits very quickly. It's what it's all about.

Maybe if enough members here actually want to split Video into sub forums (Nvidia and ATI and other), I suggest starting a petition and submit it to the administration. IMHO.

OT. A Nvidia equivalent to a 7850, I think, would be a GTX560 or Ti?
Not sure.

Meh, other big sites have separated sub-forums, and are still very popular. There really isn't a need though, just have to take a more hard line approach on the obvious trolls and flame baiters.

Well I pulled the trigger on this: SAPPHIRE 11188-22-20G Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 for $199.99-$10 MIR= $189.99.

Thank you for input.
