What is NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM reboot 45sec?

I just installed SBC Yahoo internet access on my brother's laptop and now, when he connects sometimes he gets this message from Windows XP that the system will restart in 45 seconds and it is caused by NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM and below it says "RPC remote procedure call".

What is that?
 
Either the CD is infected or you got infected while being dialed up, it only takes a second (well maybe a minute on dialup).
 
That is an amazing feat to get a virus on a clean install of xp.. having only installed the ISP. (dial-up)

Blaster is a praticularly nasty little bug that way. You should patch for it or be sure any XP/2000 computer is patched for it prior to connecting to the net. As Nothingman said, it only takes a second (minute).
