The correct term is "PCI-e" not PCI-x.

Yes, the mobo you linked is a PCI-e mobo. Which means you need a PCI-e graphics card, can't use an AGP gfx card.

Otherwise, you can google nforce 4 and find a lot of reviews on that chipset.

EDIT: PCI-e, is also known as PCI-express, the add for the mobo uses the fully-spelled version

nForce is the name NVIDIA uses for their chipset line, and yes you can use an ATi videocard with them.

Do you need nForce? no... there are other chipsets but the nForce is most popular.

The NF4 platform would be better for you if you're after a PCI-E based Socket 939 motherboard.

Not sure, but I heard that the VIA K8T890 will not support the dual core Athlon 64 CPU, unlike the NF4 chipsets?
