Anyhoo...Nef was a member here a few years ago, who used to post a lot of useless, random posts, with no real meaning. He got banned by the Mods for doing this, and since then, the act of posting useless stuff has been called Neffing 🙂

hah! thanks hytek, I had the general meaning of the word but I never had the guts to ask exactly why it meant that
 
Well guys, since I already know what the term "nef" means (and even know a few nefs personally, not including myself of course 😉), I think I'll just ignore this thread so you won't have to be bothered with yet another stupid yeah-I-agree-too post... 😀
 
Well.... "mea culpa" on that one. I just wanted to boost my post count to 5,000 so that I could thank and acknowledge all my friends and TeAm mates. It annoyed me to be at 49xx - so I neffed my way to 5,000 - and got a STERN warning from the Mod in the process. 😉

Lucky for me... I've been around awhile - and (usually) am fairly well behaved, so I got by with a warning.

Don't try this at home. Your mileage may vary. 😉
 
Now, let me see if I've got this right. In a thread about what "neffing" is, leaving meaningless posts isn't really a nef because it is a demonstration of the concept and therefore not worthless and not a nef, so I'm not neffing, I'm elucidating. It's almost as good as asslaminating, but not quite. :beer: :beer: :beer: :beer: :beer: for me, please.

Nice logic there, trying to justify a useless post. 😉 😀

Oh, and the "asslaminating" bit, I don't understand. What does polishing one's buttocks have to do with distributed computing, useless posts, etc.? 😱
