What Is Needed To Convert VHS to DVD?

I have a couple of VHS tapes that I like to convert to DVD and was wondering
what is needed? I just ordered the Plexwriter 708A:

http://www.plextor.com/english/products/708A.html

I already have the Matrox Marvel G400 TV:

I was thinking of replacing it with the ATI All-In-Wonder 9800 Pro,
in order to convert VHS to DVD. Would that do the job or is anything
else needed? Anyone has experience doing this? How is the quality?
Can you play it on standard DVD players out there?

😕

I am doing this same thing. What I am doing is going to use a MSI TV@nywhere to record information off of the VCR using either the Coaxiel or Composite outputs. My TV@nywhere was DOA though so I can't report any tips or findings, sorry! 🙁

>>Why not use the matrox card? <<

I know I can plug in my video into my computer, however
how do you convert this to the DVD so that this is playable
on standard DVD players out there???

Has anyone used the Matrox for this?
