What is more of a waste of bandwidth? Screaming REPOST or REPOSTING interesting/funny stuff?

Now i understand that some of the stuff that gets reposted is crap, but what about the other genuine informational/funny stuff that isn't crap. The R-nazis just love invading threads, leaving their signature "repost" behind. Seriously, if the reposted thread warrants enough attention from new readers, such as this:

http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=38&threadid=998257&highlight_key=y&keyword1=laugh

With 14 posts (excluding the poster), there were FIVE people who actually enjoyed the reposted material. There are still nine people left over, taking up bandwidth with their pointless r..e..p...o...s...t posts.

So make the decision, what's taking up more bandwidth: Threads with reposted information that some people may actually like, or the threads that are littered with COUNTLESS "repost" posts. And if the thread is stupid, let it die! Why bring it up to the top?

And for those that bitch about searching before posting--yes, that's a good idea, but face it, none of us are around the forums 24/7. We can't catch everything. If a poster neglects searching for a thread before posting, and it's a stupid repost, let it die. If it's worth it's repost value, then the repost will be worth it.

No, finding and bumping the original thread would be worthwhile.

Reposting without a search is discourteous laziness and an affront to anyone who took the time to respond in the original thread.

None of the above

It's the idiots that quote whole conversations instead of just the last statement :disgust:

The biggest waste, is the people who quote the same quoted qutoe over and over.

I have a suggestion. Why not revive the original topic? It will already be full of opinions and relevent links. Gee, what a concept!

Ah, but by the "worthwhile reposts deserve a repost" logic, the people who scream Repost help keep the thread at the top for others to enjoy. :D
