What is "MoneyNippy.com" and how do our posts turn up in another forum site?

Back in March [2014] I started this thread:

http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2374065

I was seeking answers to resolving an event-log "SideBySide" error.

I recently turned my attention to this again, after reinstalling PaperPort and discovering the same error was now reoccurring. So I did a web-search, found my original thread at Anandtech in the results list, and then found this:

http://www.moneynippy.com/showthread.php?115522-MS-C-redistributable-x86-and-x64-multiple-versions

How is it that our posts at Anandtech are being hijacked and reprinted on this "Bulletin" web-site, under bogus poster names?

Just a guess, but it might be someone who had a similar problem cut and pasted your post and a few others and reposted it elsewhere.

But if it is happening on a widespread scale, then the webmaster and/or mods there are obviously involved, and Anandtech needs to address it. I'm sure Anand owns the publishing and redistribution rights to their forum content. Fair use is not considered widespread theft and reuse of intellectual property for a profit. And the original posters still has the rights granted them for being the content creators, whatever that's worth.

This is not a cut and paste issue of the original post.
All posts subsequent to the OP are verbatim to the AT thread.

Someone at that site duplicated the entire thread and change the names to reflect some local poster (a dummy maybe).

Completely unethical at a minimum and the Mods here should ensure that Anand is aware of this. Who knows how much other AT info is copied onto that site and potential other sites are also having their content used.

It's a blackhat SEO operation. They copy our posts and change the names in hope of stealing the high SEO rankings for certain threads here. It's not harmful in any way, but it's annoying.

Anyhow, there's generally nothing we can do about it. Usually the servers are located in another country, and even if they aren't a new one just pops up in its place.

I just thought it strange. There was very little elapsed time between my thread/post and the dates on the duplicates of the other website.

Truth be told, while my question addresses a "real" issue, there was nothing in that thread that would merit posting on another site. So why would it have been of so much interest? I don't see how the thread itself would contribute to "high SEO rankings."

The AT Forums are considered a high value source on Google. You may not consider your individual post to be all that important, but Google thinks otherwise.;)
