NEW YORK -- Filmmaker Michael Moore, whose incendiary new documentary lambastes President Bush's handling of the war, said Thursday that he has footage unused in the film of Nicholas Berg, the American civilian later beheaded in Iraq.

The footage, of an interview with Berg, "is approximately 20 minutes long. We are not releasing it to the media," Moore said in a statement. "It is not in the film. We are dealing privately with the family."

Neither Moore nor his representatives would describe the nature or contents of the interview with Berg, who held staunch pro-war views.

No one answered the phone Thursday at the home of Berg's parents in West Chester, Pa.

"Fahrenheit 9/11," which recently won the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival, accuses the Bush camp of stealing the 2000 election, overlooking terrorism warnings before Sept. 11, 2001, and fanning fears of more attacks to secure American support for the Iraq war.

Moore's assault on U.S. policy got him into trouble with Disney, which refused to let subsidiary Miramax release "Fahrenheit 9/11." He is still trying to work out a deal for U.S. distribution.

Considering the father's anti-Bush stance, do you think he'll sit on the video if there's anything he could use against Bush?

Moore just wanted some press about it....he isn't going to give it to the media why bother announcing it. Just give the 20 minutes to the family and keep your mouth shut.

Considering Moore's rabid anti-Bush stance, do you think he'd have sat on the video if there's anything he could use against Bush?

Not until he ran it by the family first.

I don't trust either Moore or Berg's father.

You guys are woefully confused. The video is of an INTERVIEW with Nick Berg, not of him being beheaded. Get the facts straight next time.

Actually that makes more sense. It's that there isn't anything that Moore could use. It's material that he doesn't want to get out. That's the reason it wasn't released.

Yes, that must be it! That's why he announced it! Because he doesn't want it to get out!

?

I'm no Michael Moore fan (actually his first movie was pretty good) but the conspiracy idea doesn't add up for me.

What conspriacy theory? Damn but you are paranoid.

All I said was that tape has information that Moore wouldn't want to get out. It's from someone who understood and held "pro-war" views. That contradicts everything that Moore is using to sell his movie and make money. Of course he doesn't want to release it.

Or maybe it's because the man was beheaded recently and that's just wrong to include him in the movie

All this rabid anti-Bush crap can only help the President. Michael Moore needs to remember Republicans' actions against President Bill Clinton over the whole Lewinsky affair. Even though Lewinsky didn't swallow, Clinton still came out unscathed because the public was against the whole impeachment scheme.

What's up with Disney censorship? They stand to make a killing if all the liberals go and see it. More proof of the right wing-media.

Why does everyone call this "censorship?" It's not wrong for a company to make a business decision, and in the same way as the super bowl ads, the company has the right to decide what is correct for its business.
