what is Memory CAS Latency?

what is the cas and would i want a higher or lower number
also, what do the other 4 (i think) numbers mean?

the "bottom line" doesnt even seem to make sense
but, id agree with you if i said im not super bright

i posted in general rather than in the technical because of this reason 😛

umm to put it really simply the CAS and other numbers are basically the latencies of the RAM and lower is better. though the performace gain usually isn't suffient to justify the increased cost
 
Get the lowset possbile for best speed. For cheap ram, get Corsair Value Select, which is 2.5-3-3-7 for pc3200. Got expensive stuff, get Corsair XMS, which rus at 2-2-2-5
