What is LOAD temp of Opteron 170, running stock speed & stock HSF?

Tag says it all. It has been suggested to me that, even though my CPU temps [idle/load: 39/46] are well under 65 (AMD spec max), that my chip should be stable when overclocked, provided I can keep the temperature down to normal. (This was not the *exact* suggestion, but its close).

Anyway, so someone tell me their idle and 100% load temps on the 170 with stock speed and cooling.

Thx

Haven't tried the new stock HS with pipes, but I believe the SI-120 that I'm using should be better, even with that I get 37-39 idle which is a bit high IMO and on 100% load I get crazy temps of up to 55, I have to leave the case open to get it down to 50. That's in stock, but since I got one of the best steppings I have it at 2.6 with stock volts getting same temps.
Maybe later when I decide to remove the chip's HS I will try higher.

I get 32C on idle with ambient 22.5 on stock hsf. Note, i had to dissable bios fansmart so that I could have manual control over the fan speed. This is at 100%, even after dropping speed to 70% it was 33-34C.

I was having some serious problems with controllling temps when I first got the PC it was fine at first then all of a suddend kept staying at 45C with ambient of 33C. This was probably normal but I didn't like it so I bought AC5 and noticed that the base of the oem hs is pretty poor so I got some XXX steelwool and gave it a polish, I know this by no means a lapping processs but it certainly felt smoother by the touch. I think the cobination of this and AC5 helped to keep my temps stable.

I have a SI-120. I do 37 Idle, 45 Load.

Used AS Ceramique. First time doing it, so it might not be applied right, I dunno.

With good airflow, the temps are 31 Idle, 37 Load. But I am scewing with the fans right now.

That's what I needed to know - thx. It seems my "Ninja mod" is not improving the situation.
