Whenever they bring back the classic Thinkpad design elements, especially the keyboard, everyone gets excited. The classic Thinkpad design is awesome and the keyboard is amazing. Why would they ever get rid of it? I've never used a laptop keyboard I like anywhere near as much as my Thinkpad.

Why would they ever use a different keyboard? What am I missing here?

Hmm, I wonder if they'll even be obtainable by mere mortals?
I'm kind of glad I picked up a Surface Book (aside from the fact that I like it), because if I was in the market for a laptop and couldn't get one of these, I'd be mad. It's bad enough I can't get a SNES classic. 😛

I had an older ThinkPad with a color 640x480 screen, and a 486-class CPU. I liked it a lot, did some programming on it on the go. Screen hinge finally went, while on the road, that finished off that laptop.

Because everyone wants to be Apple.

Because everyone wants to be Apple.
because when apple puts a shit chiclet keyboard, or the one on the new macbooks (i have 1 of these for home, and one for work) well they just follow the crowd.

at least the chiclet keys on the thinkpads these days are about as good as you can make them (i think they are pretty decent honestly and i had a bunch of old thinkpads for work... t430s and w520s etc from pre chiclet).

companies need to just stop blindly doing whatever idiotic thing apple is doing. the management at these companies have no backbone. its the same in every industry, they just follow the trend maker. case in point, putting touch screen everything in cars just because tesla is doing it (and teslas suck, they are just hyped so much and then you get infiniti/audi etc going more and more touch screen)
