I am doing a website for one of my classes, for class use only. I decided to bas it on my beloved OSU buckeyes. I have to include 1 image for now, and just for fun I wanted to add the buckeyes battle cry in as background music. Is it legal to use the fight song on my page if I just grab it form the net somewhere? And what about pictures, where can I get them without getting into trouble? I mean i can find the pictures, but how do I know what I can and can't legally use? Thanks

As long as you are not trying to make money, defame anyone, and you are properly site your sources, you should not have any problems.

In the bibliography / credits pages simply list the source to the image on a certain page
example : "Image #1 from Ohio website url : blankety blank blank".... That should CYA.
I've also seen people use the verbiage " all images copyrights are reserved by their copyright holders. Should any copyright holder object to it's use here, please contact (Link here) for immediate action."
Under "fair use" one is allowed use such as this of practically everything, even trademarked items. so long as no money crosses ones threshold, one can pay "homage" to anything, ad nauseum. this is my understanding as it has been demonstrated to me.

I think you can simply put a small caption saying "photo from www.osu.edu"

I'm not an expert on this issue so I could be wrong.
