What is Joint Stereo, I can only rip in Joint Stereo in Audio Catalyst 2.1

I am trying to make a few compilations for my mp3 cdplayer and its ripping them as joint stereo, I cant seem to find a place to change it to stereo.

I dont mind Joint Stereo, but I prefer simple stereo, BTW which is better? Its hard to tell the difference.

It's in "Advanced" options somewhere in there......try going to General options first. Then select something like 'force simple stereo when possible'.

It's been a while since I've used it, as you can tell.
