What is it with cats and water?

The funniest thing just happened!

A hose popped off its parker fitting on a R/O receiver and sprayed EVERYWHERE. There were probably three cats nearby when this happened (they worship cats here). When the water hit the cats it set them off like touching a cigarette to black powder. Amazing how fast they can peel out across the deck with those paws.

I'm pretty sure this was water, it doesn't have a taste or smell but I'm gonna check and make sure that was a R/O receiver cuz it would suck if it's NOT water. Ugh!

Cheers!

where do you work, and what do you use RO water for? Something to do with sharks?

It's for potable water system.

Pumps take water out of the ocean, prefilter it and raise the pressure so it goes through a reverse osmosis membrane that removes most everything. The water is then chlorinated and stored in tanks called receivers. Some of the water is set aside and sent to the DI unit for further purification for other uses.

I just found out this is water. I could not imagine it being anything else but you never know! The ion-exchange resins get recharged with HCl!

<still laughing> The whole cat thing was funny. I really need to set up some cameras! :)

Cheers!

My cat will sit in the tub and wait for you to turn the water on so he can drink from it.

You'd do the same thing if someone sprayed honey all over, then had to clean up with your tougue.
