You'd think they were giving away gold or huge bonuses or something. Our department has donuts in the morning, and by 10:00am the engineers, accountants, HR personel, etc are crawling out of the woodwork and find an excuse to come to our area to "talk to someone about something" and then "wow....I didn't know you had donuts here, I think I'll have one". Ya, how convenient, you haven't wondered into our area in 3 weeks and all of a sudden you pick this day to say hi and WOW...what a coincendence....donuts!

Seriously, go drop 50 cents down the street or just admit you are a big fat freeloader who can only muster up enough energy to came over here to steal our donuts.

What's the attraction of the Hot Deals forum here? Ohh yeah... god stuff for free/cheap.

We usually have donuts here every friday. There are several technical "groups" in this particular area of teh building. Our group loves food. We usually have something to eat 2-3 days out of the week, and Friday is always donut day.

Typically the lady who always picks them up is given money on Thursday. It never fails that people from other groups come and eat on them and never give a dime. I don't mind so much, because they normally don't come around until 10 or so after everyone has already got what they wanted.

We just buy extra donuts to cover any "freeloaders". It's worth it in the big picture, because when I need a favor, they'll help me out.

I'll gladly trade donuts for expedited processing of a purchase order, or an expense report, or a phone reassignment, etc. They are welcome to have all they can eat.

We only get donuts or bagels in celebration of something or when managers want to reward us for good work after a milestone. When coworkers return from India they often bring those little cookie-like sweets with silver on top. It's amazing how many varieties of it there are.

One day, someone brought in fresh apples from an orchard. Now THAT is what I call a good treat at work. I wish more people would do that.
