What is Intel Watchdog Timer Driver?

I had to reinstall the OS and cannot find at least on Intel's official site the Intel Watchdog Timer Driver. Is it a necessity that you have to have this installed and what is it?

This driver provides access to the watchdog timer (WDT) present on all Intel ICH chipsets.
Answer not a necessity

I believe it comes with the other Intel drivers that apply to your board/video/ etc. Is something telling you it's missing?

Well it isn't on the disk that has all the drivers that came with the motherboard. Before I reinstalled the OS I noticed it was in my program files and assumed it was on the chipset disk.
Still no answer on what this does, if it is required and where to find it.

If you Overclock you system, and something start to go wrong it will automaticly go back to the safe target (default)
But i do like the cookbook lol
