What is I/O Port Flexibility?

I'm reading that the 4th gen Core chipset (Z87) has I/O port flexibility. I can't find a link that explains this. What does I/O port flexibility mean? (And I'm not referring to the Port of Rotterdam . . .)

If I recall right, its something with you being able to select what USB ports should be USB2 and what should be USB3.

That would be interesting.

Also interesting is that your graphic does not show up in your post. Correction -- did not show up. You must have added it after I read your post but before I quoted it. Interesting.

Yeah so I guess it basically means more SATA3 ports and more native USB3 ports, and different models of motherboards offering more or fewer ports (up to 6 for each).
