What is happening during "Welcome" screen ?

I have only one user with no password (Win XP Pro), so the Welcome screen used to flash for like 3 seconds and then goes to the desktop with no intervention from the user. Suddenly it started staying up for 25 seconds, then going to the desktop. How can I find out what it's doing. The taskbar starts loading its icons after the desktop appears, so its not loading the Startup programs.

Anyone know what's going on? I installed some programs, and I know I can go back to a previous System Restore point, but I wanted to see if anyone knew.

run msconfig, check the startup tab and see what is there.

Service & drivers set to "automatic" may also be loading during this time.
