There's some surprisingly rational and coherent thought going on here - on a subject that ordinarily polarizes folks into a flame war. I'm impressed. :)

right along with the gun control issue is a new Senate Bill #2099 which is an amendment to the Internal Reveneu Act of 1986 that would require all handgun owners to identify their handguns on their federal tax return, along with a $50 tax per firearm.

an interesting end-run; as they are trying to amend an existing bill, only the Finance Committee would have to vote on it versus the entire Senate.

I've never been a single issue voter in the past and have often compromised my feelings on gun control, but this year I may vote strictly on that issue alone.

and,..................................who is an NRA member??????

edit - simple spelling error, a frequent casualty of sausage fingers.
