I am building a box for a client that wants one. I have yet to get one myself.

I have been reading up on them, and it seems they all have good points and bad points. I am leaning toward a pioneer a05 or a06...NEC1300a....or the optorite...????

feedback would be great.

thanks

sony is out of budget...

her goal is to make back ups of her movies so that her grandkids can have something to watch after they tear up the originals

thanks

I would hold off until the new Plextor 8x -+ DVD burner comes out at the end of the month. Newegg is listed pricing at $265

Sony or Pioneer. Plex is 8X, but the speed freaks always forget there is about a 6+ month lag between hardware and media availability.

Actually LG has a new dvd burner out there as well the Details Here It is about 350 CND and it does all 5 format, +R +RW, -R -RW, and -RAM (without need of a caddy)
